  • Most people I see are coming in because they’ve injured themselves. The first thing I want to do is control your pain. Now we have to figure out the ‘why’. It’s crucial to determine the cause of the injury so we can work together to fix things at the source.

Let’s use ankle injuries as an example. Person ‘A’ comes in after being slide tackled in soccer leading to an ankle injury. This is vastly different than Person ‘B’ rolling their ankle when stepping off a curb. In the first scenario Person ‘A’ had an outside force (player colliding) causing the injury. In the second scenario Person ‘B’ had poor strength, proprioception and a lack of tissue tolerance leading to their injury.

My treatment approach is therefore different for each scenario. Person ‘A’ would need treatment that caters to restoring proprioception, balance, muscle coordination and control whilst maintaining muscle strength. Person ‘B’ requires the above plus integration of exercises in areas along the kinetic chain that were maladaptive or lacking which lead to their injury.

In both cases, treatment results in exposing the body to demand through exercise with the goal of restoring normal function to prevent future (re)injury.

Conversely, I have awesome and ahead of the curve people see me for proactive care. Sport preparation (soccer season, Hyrox, marathons, volleyball) upcoming life stages (pregnancy, menopause, critical years etc.) or general proactive support. With these individuals we team up, determine their goals and curate care accordingly.

    Care may include:

    • Soft tissue therapy

    • Mobilizations

    • Adjustments

    • Active care *let’s be real this is a non-negotiable

    • Modalities: Graston, cupping, dry needling, BFRT, sport taping, TENs
